01 — WHAT WE FIXWCAG 2.2 AA, in your own code

What we fix

We remediate websites to WCAG 2.2 AA, with every issue also mapped to WCAG 2.1 AA, the technical standard most often referenced in these lawsuits and settlements. Whether it applies to you, and how far, is your attorney's call. Doing the work in the code is ours. In practice that means:

  • Images get real text descriptions, so a screen reader can say what they show
  • Menus, buttons, and forms work with a keyboard alone, not just a mouse
  • Checkout, booking, and contact flows are fixed so they can be completed start to finish with assistive software
  • Page structure is corrected so screen readers announce headings, labels, and errors properly
  • Color contrast and text sizing meet the standard so low-vision users can read the site

Every fix is made in the website's own code and content, then tested on the finished work with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android.

02 — OVERLAY WIDGETSWhy we do not sell them

We do not use accessibility overlay widgets.

You may have seen products that promise one-line “accessibility plugins.” Complaints in ADA lawsuits have specifically named websites running those tools.

An overlay does not change the underlying website. The barriers are still in the code, and assistive software still hits them. Real remediation means changing the code itself, verified with real assistive technology. That is the only version of this work we sell.

    With NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. Anything that does not pass gets corrected before the work is called done.

    The work is done against the standard, and you have the record of what was done.

05 — PRICINGOne price, quoted after we look

Flat pricing, per website.

Every site is different, so we quote one fixed price after reviewing yours. The price covers the review, all fixes, testing, and the written report for the pages and flows in the agreed scope.

For larger stores, or when you ask for it, we quote the review, the fixes and the verification as separate phases.

06 — WORKING WITH ATTORNEYSBuilt around the settlement terms

Working with attorneys.

If your lawyer has specific remediation requirements from a settlement or a consent decree, we build the work and the report around them.

07 — SCOPEThe limits, stated plainly

What this is, and what it is not.

  • Codexyo is an engineering studio, not a law firm. We do technical accessibility work. We do not give legal advice, and we do not determine whether you comply with the ADA or any other law.
  • Conformance with WCAG 2.2 AA, with every issue also mapped to WCAG 2.1 AA, is a technical result measured against published standards. What it means for your legal position is a question for your attorney.
  • We do not promise the outcome of a claim, a demand letter, or a negotiation. Nobody honest can.
  • Accessibility regresses. Content added later, third-party embeds, and plugin updates can all reintroduce barriers. We will tell you which parts of your site are most likely to.
  • The written agreement governs the work. Where this page and that agreement disagree, the agreement wins.
